Introduction

The course Learning Beginning Internet Skills is divided into three units.

The first unit "Searching for Resources" looks at the most popular area of the Internet, the World Wide Web (WWW). The lessons in this unit deal with skills such as using a web browser to "surf" the web, using the features of a web browser to search for and capture both text and graphics, and making the most of the web browser's bookmark feature.

The second unit "Communicating on the Internet" deals with what is probably the most widely used feature of the Internet. The lessons in this unit deal with email, mailing lists, and newsgroups.

The third unit "Advanced Internet Usage" takes a look at some of the more advanced features that are available. Lessons in this unit deal with the transferring of files, searching of gopher space, and the manipulation of images.
