Activities

These activities are designed to help you consolidate some of the concepts introduced in this lesson. They are essential steps in beginning an online course. If you are taking the course for credit, they may be required.

  1. Devise an assessment plan for the course. Make sure that this plan is consistent with the decisions made earlier on how the course is to be structured. If a grade is part of the course, determine how the grade is to be computed.
  2. Part of the lesson covers four identifiable stages of 'internalization' of the potential of the online medium. Where your mentees are in this continuum will largely determine their online performance. Where would you place most of the students in your course? What implications does this have for the way in which you will teach the course?
