Monitoring Important National Telecommunications Legislation

Important telecommunications legislation is being debated that may severely compromise your right to access information, the privacy of your personal information and your students personal information. Most of the general public doesn't understand the far reaching effects decisions currently being made will have on their rights as citizens.

The Communications Act of 1934 defined telecom regulation for the six decades that followed. The Telecommunications Reform act of 1996 was passed in February 1996 and will have a similar lasting impact. The full text of the bill is available here.
