Online Educational Resources

As far as this course is concerned, we have reached the end of the line!

However, we hope you will continue to learn and grow as a teacher who is at the cutting edge. Telecommunications is such a rapidly evolving field that unless one continues to grow one's knowledge and skills become obsolete. This final lesson is about keeping your skills and ideas up to date, and about other resources that are available at this time.

More and more resources of steadily improving quality are appearing on the Internet. Your challenge will be to find the highest quality resource collections for your particular teaching needs. A component of this challenge is for you to create your own community of selected peers with which you will share quality information on an ongoing basis.

One of the best resource lists is the Scout Report. This report is updated every month and is available on the Web. The Scout Toolkit is a selection of the best network tools.

The Scout Report is also available by email free of charge. If you subscribe, the report is automatically sent to your email address. To subscribe to the Scout Report:
send email to:
listserv@cs.wisc.edu
in the body of the message, type:

subscribe scout-report yourfirstname yourlastname

For example, if your name is Frasier Crane, type:
subscribe scout-report Frasier Crane
If your name is not Frasier Crane, substitute your own name.

Another way of staying current is to visit some of the major resources sites on a regular basis. Some are listed below, but you are sure to find others that are as good or even better.
