Introduction

The course Classroom Collaboration Using the Internet is divided into four units.

The first unit "Towards Excellence" sets the stage for the rest of the course by taking a look at what is considered "best practice" in the light of some of the new standards and benchmarks. It also considers the role of telecommunications in the bid to achieve excellence.

The second unit "Types of Activities" explores in-depth the various ways in which telecommunications can be incorporated into the classroom. It describes a taxonomy of different types of activities and goes on to explore the use of graphics and images in the classroom.

The third unit "Creating Telecollaborative Activities" is designed for those who are planning to design and facilitate an activity of their own.

The fourth unit "Excellence in Action" takes a look at how others have used telecommunications to achieve excellence in the classroom. It then goes on to look a ways that course participants can put some of their ideas and products into practice.
