Welcome to the stock game. If you have never owned or bought a stock before this will be a learning experience for you. We will play this game for two weeks. During this time you will be graded on participation of the game. The game is online and you will have $100,000 to buy and sell stocks as you wish. The idea is to make as much money as you can in the two weeks. We will be learning about speculative and blue chip stocks. You will learn how to buy and sell stocks on margin and learn how to make a quick profit (hopefully).
You will be playing against one another so try not to share you good stock tips with too many people so you can take advantage of a good pick.
The Task
By the end of this game hopefully you will understand the following things about stocks and stock trades:

The Process
Y
ou will be able to play the stocks quest game by going through the following steps:First you will need to go to the web site and get a log-in and password. Make sure you log-in has your last name somewhere in it. I will need this to give you credit for playing the game.
Once you have a log-in and password make sure you write it down so you will remember it for the next few days.
When you are in the site a tab at the top says Join a game pick this option and put in this log-in and password.

Now you are logged in and ready to play.
You must own a total of 8 stocks at all times and you may not have more than $20,000 invested in one stock at a time. If you do not play by these rules you will be disqualified from the prize part of the game.
Once you've picked a role to play....
Describe to the learners how their performance will be evaluated. Specify whether there will be a common grade for group work vs. individual grades.
