These activities are designed to help you consolidate some of the concepts introduced in this lesson. They are essential components of facilitating an online discussion. If you are taking the course for credit, they may be required.

1. PLANNING A GROUP PROJECT
Your activity for this lesson is plan how you would go about facilitating a group project. Some of the aspects to include in the plan are:

• How will the group project or assignment be announced? What is the phrasing and description of what you want the groups to do?
• How will you organize individuals into groups?
• How will you have a group select a leader?
• How will you have groups brainstorm their project and decide what each members role will be?
• If the project is part of obtaining credit for a course, how will the project be assessed? How will individuals be assessed?

Write up a plan and share it with your group if you are taking this lesson as part of a course.
