Pictures and Graphics

Graphics on web pages can only be GIF or JPEG format images. For more information on converting images see Learning Basic Internet Skills, lesson 8. Pictures can be aligned so that they appear on the left or right of the screen, or centered in the middle. Pictures or graphics are added to web pages using an image source tag. A sample is:

<P ALIGN=CENTER><IMG SRC="smiley.gif"></P>

You can also put a line of text next to a graphic and have it start at the top, bottom or middle of the graphic using an ALIGN statement in your IMG SRC tag. Such as: <IMG SRC="smiley2.gif" ALIGN="middle">

Don't worry, be happy!
